To most people in the world, Lhasa represents mystery, religion and
culture. The grandest events in Lhasa should be those various festivals,
of which Shoton Festival, Saka-Dawa Festival and Tibetan New Year are the

It is better to visit Tibet from March to October on account of the warm
and damp climate during this period. Though Lhasa is named sun-city, the
temperatures in different periods of a day are of large difference. It is
cold at night and hot in the day. Generally speaking, a T-shirt, an
overcoat, and a sunhat are always necessary when visiting Lhasa.
The capacity for Lhasa hotels is 14,000 people per day, and they can
always accommodate all tourists even in peak seasons. However, tourists
are still advised to book earlier because most hotels in Lhasa don't have
heating system. Therefore, it is important to make sure whether the hotel
provides central heating beforehand.
Before traveling to Tibet, please remember that Tibet Permit is required
by the Tibet Tourism Bureau to visit Lhasa and surrounding cities. In
addition, foreign tourists are not allowed to visit Tibet individually,
and they must take a guided tour there. Please make sure you have got the

4-star Potala Palace
Lhasa Hotel is the only one of international 4-star hotel standard in
Tibetan Area. It is located in the Holy Land of Lhasa with an altitude of
3,600 meters. There are over 450 rooms (suites) in the hotel, and all are
equipped with air-conditioning, mini-bar and other basic facilities. Some
of the rooms are decorated in Tibetan style. In addition to its excellent
establishment and service, Lhasa Hotel is also close to the mysterious
and attracting Potala Palace, only 10 minutes' drive, and neighboring
Norbulingka Park, the beautiful and historic summer park

Jiangsu Ecological Garden Hotel, Lhasa
4-star City Center
Jiangsu Ecological Garden Hotel has resolved the problem that no
large-scale conference could be held in Lhasa since its opening in 2005.
The hotel boasts a total of 10 assembly rooms, which has greatly improved
the reception ability of Lhasa. It is only 10 minutes' drive to Potala
Palace and Lhasa Railway Station.
King Sun Grand Hotel, Lhasa
4-star Potala Palace
King Sun Grand Hotel is located across the racecourse, neighboring to
North Urban Passenger Transportation Station, in which there are regular
buses traveling to Golmud, Chengdu and Shangri-la. And also you might get
a bird's eye view of Potala Palace from some rooms.

Lhasa Xue Ya Hotel
3-star Qing Zang Highway Monument
As a 3-star budget hotel, Lhasa Xue Ya Hotel pays more attention to
guests' comfort and satisfaction in bed and breakfast. It is close to
Qing Zang Highway Monument and Norbulingka Park. Furthermore, the hotel
also provides a parking lot for the guests.
A Tip: July and August are the busiest tourist seasons of Lhasa. Hotels
and hostels are often completely booked. So it's best to make a
reservation early.
