Two blasts in Indian southeastern city kill 34

NEW DELHI - At least 34 people were killed and 40 more injured as two
bomb blasts rocked Hyderabad, capital city of Indian southeastern state
of Andhra, Saturday evening, New Delhi Television reported.

The first explosion took place at Lumbini Park near the state secretariat
at around 8 pm local time, killing at least 10 people.
Another blast happened at a commercial area 15 minutes later, killing at
least 24.
The blast occurred when a laser show was on at Lumbini Park.

The police said the blasts were meticulously planned and executed, but
the cause of the blasts was still unknown.
The police cordoned off the areas and sounded a red alert across the city
and conducted searches at railway stations and bus depots.
The injured people were sent to a nearby hospital immediately.
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh condemned the blast, and expressed
his deep concern.
