An artistic curiosity named "Goddess of Mercy in a flourishing era"
appeared at the Shanghai International Gem and Jewelry Exposition on May
10. This artistic work consists of three parts, namely the statue of the
goddess, Buddha's halo and the lotus throne, and is 88 centimeters in
total height. It is elaborately carved by several highly skilled
industrial artists with more than 5,000 grams of gold and several
thousand grains of various rare treasures such as ivory, emerald, pearl
and ruby.
