More anti-dumping cases against China come from developing countries

Chinanews, Beijing, July 11 - Vice president of the International
Economic and Trade Cooperation Institute under the Ministry of Commerce
Li Yushi recently said in Beijing that anti-dumping cases against Chinese
goods had now expanded from developed countries to developing countries,
from individual cases to cases of opposition to Chinese trade system.
In the second quarter, anti-dumping cases raised from developing
countries included the anti-dumping case against Chinese rolled steel
from India, the anti-dumping case against Chinese shoes from Peru, the
anti-dumping case against Chinese sulfur rubber from Turkey, the
anti-dumping case against Chinese fiberglass mats from South Africa, and
the anti-dumping case against Chinese porcelain tiles from Pakistan.
In June, India began to levy a temporary anti-dumping duty against
Chinese silk products. A year earlier, India had launched an anti-dumping
investigation against Chinese silk products. The anti-dumping case
involved 100 Chinese enterprises with their goods valued at 180 million
US dollars. This is the largest anti-dumping case in recent years that a
developing country has raised against China.
Li Xinguang, a member from the China International Economic Cooperation
Council says that as Chinese goods constitutes a larger proportion in the
international trade market, Chinese enterprises also face more global
trade barriers. While countries from Europe and the Americas frequently
launch anti-dumping cases against China, the number of such cases from
developing countries increases as well. Chinese companies should think of
a way to solve this problem.
In recent years, China has responded to nearly all the anti-dumping cases
from US and EU. However, regarding the anti-dumping cases from developing
countries, few of them have been handled.
